Agriculture
This foundational course introduces students to the impacts of agriculture and agribusiness on everyday life. Students will gain knowledge of Georgia agriculture, National FFA Organization, and career opportunities in the agricultural industries. Students will have lab experiences in the greenhouse. Students can participate in FFA.
Health
Health is devoted to helping students discover that wellness is a lifestyle. Students will learn that lifestyle choices can improve their physical fitness, performance in school, self-esteem and overall wellness.
Art
Art, Media Arts (7th Grade), & Portfolio (8th Grade)
Seventh grade students are introduced to art making and art history. Students explore historical and modern artists and their work through projects and exploratory sketchbooks. Eighth grade visual art explores different occupations in the arts through various projects, including research and exploratory
sketchbooks. Art Portfolio is available to talented 8th grade students as a yearlong course.
Healthcare Sciences
This foundational course is appropriate for students wishing to pursue a career in the Healthcare Industry. The course provides an introduction to Healthcare Science skills and attitudes applicable to the healthcare industry. Students will have an opportunity to participate in HOSA.
Construction
This foundational class will introduce students to fundamental skills of construction. Students will learn through hands-on experiences and use basic tools to build objects. Students will have opportunities to participate in SkillsUSA.
Invention and Innovation
7th Grade
Invention and Innovation introduces seventh grade students to the world of invention and innovation along with the Engineering Design Process. They will examine the impacts of invention and innovation on society and solve problems through research, design, and experimentation. Students can participate in First Robotics.
Foundations of Computer Programming
Students will have opportunities to apply employability skills and research possible career options in the information technology area. Students will complete many hands-on activities to build a strong foundation in computer coding and designing interactive programs. Students successfully completing this course will be prepared for the following high school pathways: Internet of Things, Programming, Computer Science, Web & Digital Design, Web Development, and Game Design.
Marketing
The course is designed to give students a basic understanding of the marketing concept and the seven functions of marketing. Other topics discussed are personal finance (checking, savings and credit). Students can participate in DECA.
Technical Systems
8th Grade
The eighth grade course, technological systems, is designed for students to utilize the universal systems model including input, process, output and feedback. Students will examine various systems and how they work together, including electrical, magnetic, mechanical, fluid, structural, natural, thermal, chemical, and information. Students can participate in First Robotics.
Physical Education
PE & Weight Training
Students can enjoy Individual Sports, Team Sports, Physical Fitness, and Weight Lifting. These courses develop a healthy competitiveness in individual and team sports.
French
French is offered to 7th and 8th graders. Introductory courses emphasize integrated listening and speaking skills, vocabulary and grammatical structure of a new language. Upon successful completion of the introductory class, students may be invited to earn high school credit in the 8th grade year.
