Welcome Back Message from Principal Barnes!

Welcome back to another incredible school year at Rome Middle School! Whether you're a returning student or a brand-new Wolf, we're thrilled to have you! This is going to be an awesome SY26!  You already know What time is it? It’s time to W.A.R.M. UP!  We Are Rome Middle and winning is the goal!

I’m Mr. Barnes, your principal, and I cannot wait to see every single one of you. I'm looking forward to seeing our hallways buzzing with laughter, fresh energy, and stories from summer break. Additionally, I'm looking forward to walking into classrooms full of curiosity, creativity, and students ready to level up.

This year, we're laser-focused on growth. Our RMS Vision is simple and powerful:  At least 75% of Wolf Blitz Reading classes will demonstrate median growth of 55% or above in the MAP assessment from fall to winter and from winter to spring!  We’re aiming high and we know you can rise to the challenge.

What’s Important for SY26:

  • Bus Finder Info:
Parents/Guardians will now be able to track their students bus by downloading the Stop Finder Bus App.  Click here for more bus info.

  • Morning Arrival:

  • Parents/Guardians will drive through the staff/student parking lot, make a right and drive towards the RMS practice field, then loop around the roundabout and head back towards the RHS to pick up their student(s) at the front of RMS (side facing Veterans Memorial Highway).

  • Students staying after school (athletics, clubs, tutoring, etc.) will be dismissed to the gym first. Then car riders. Bus riders will be dismissed over the intercom when their bus is ready to load.
