Construction on the new Rome Middle Schools continues and significant progress can be seen by driving past the school. Parrish Construction recently offered some construction updates for the facility.
The D (first classroom wing) building, the A1 (front office and admin area) building, and the A2 (kitchen and cafeteria) building have been having electrical and plumbing installed over the past few weeks with exterior bricks nearing completion in the D building and the front entrance brick and stone arches continuing for the A1 Building. The A1 building also has exterior bricks being completed.
The C (second classroom and storm shelter) building and E (auditorium and gymnasium) building have steel structures continuing to be placed and the B (third classroom wing) building concrete slab has been completed. Curbs and gutters throughout the project have been completed and asphalt paving is ongoing.
Looking ahead, Parrish Construction notes that work will continue on exterior brick and stone, storefront windows will be added in buildings D and A2 as well as roofing installation on the E building.
Construction remains on track for the school to be open in the Fall of 2026.
